Featured Presentation- Knowledge Management as a Cornerstone of Today’s Special Libraries

Being part of a larger organization, special libraries must operate in line with corporate strategies, policies and culture. Increasingly, these strategies are related to competitive advantage that in turn rely on the capitalization of knowledge assets and expert insights. To that end, the special library must be an integral part of this paradigm shift to help the organization and its knowledge workers capture and repurpose knowledge and use that institutional know-how for commercial advantage. My keynote will discuss ways that the Knowledge Management Services department (formerly the law library) at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP is supporting the business and practice of law through the implementation of knowledge services.
